The annual ESU Scholarship and Bursary Awards 2009 is now open!

Application Form must be duly completed and submitted with the relevant supporting documents to ESU HQ by 25 November 2009, Wednesday, 5.00pm

Please see attached for the application forms. The eligibility criteria are as follows:

 

1.            The award is open to all ESU Ordinary Branch (OB) members and Directly-Serviced General Branch (DSGB) members who have children pursuing studies in a local primary / secondary school / recognized local institution / university*
 
2.            Members whose children are currently applying, receiving or have received scholarship/ bursary award from other organisations for year 2009 are not eligible to apply for the above award.
 
3.            Member must be a paid-up member with at least 3 months of continuous membership at the point of application.
 
4.            Not more than TWO school-going children from the same family may apply for the award.
 
5.            Factors taken into consideration during the selection process include academic results, household and per capita income, and length of union membership.
 
6.            Attendance for successful applicants at the award presentation ceremony is compulsory. Applicants are not allowed to nominate proxies to collect the award on their behalf.  The tentative date for the ceremony is 16 January 2009, at NTUC Centre, One Marina Boulevard. 
 
7.            Applicants will be informed of the success of their application(s) and the confirmed date and details of the award presentation ceremony via post. 
 
8.            Successful applicants who absent themselves from the award presentation ceremony and are unable to provide any valid reason(s) for their absence before the date of the ceremony would have their award(s) forfeited.
